They cater to vegetarians, but they’re popular with everyone. Counter Culture offers friendly, informal service in a lively mid-century atmosphere. The menu includes meatless, dairy-free, and raw foods made from scratch at remarkably affordable prices. Whenever possible the restaurant procures organic, fair trade & locally grown food from area farmers. Sue and the Counter Culture team go to great lengths to reuse, recycle and compost.

Daily Juice Cafe is an Austin original that has squeezed fresh juice daily since 2003. They never use purees, added sugars, or ice – just fresh, raw juice. They also serve an assortment of light snacks including some raw & gluten free options. Store bought juices are usually pasteurized or high pressure processed to extend their shelf lives 30-60 days. And that’s why you’ll have to visit Daily Juice Cafe if you want to sample the real raw deal.

Austin owner Nelson Monteith sees their menu as “honest” ingredients, from rice to vegetables to meats to fish.
